Two cars came from Japan: Kazushi Kita / Yoshifumi Maruyama Nissan March S/T and Makio Yamanaka / John McArthur Mazda 323GTX. Paul Choiniere / John Buffum in the Audi Quattro S-2 and Carl Merrill / Jon Wickens in the Ford Escort Cosworth RS.
Paul Choiniere had his step-father John Buffum as his navigator in the Audi Quattro S-2. Paul Choiniere / John Buffum were first on the road in the Audi Quattro S-2.
