Paul Choiniere had his step-father John Buffum as his navigator in the Audi Quattro S-2. New Zealander Todd Bawden / Martin Headland was still locked in the GT battle with Vinnie Frontinan before the start. Anxious spectators walked in from the finish of SS1, Beacon Hill.
