...an off by completeley missing the final bridge on Menge Creek 1 (Ted Grzelak / Dan Gildersleeve Mazda RX-7). Ted Grzelak / Dan Gildersleeve Mazda RX-7 flew over and cleared Menge Creek, but there was no way of getting back on the road. Spectators flocked to the scene of the wrecked Ted Grzelak / Dan Gildersleeve Mazda RX-7 on the bank of Menge Creek. Doug Davenport / Al Kintigh in the VW GTI also take a conservative line at the final Menge Creek bridge. Aaron Hatz / Brendan Higgins hit the same puddle at speed in their VW GTI with more fortunate results. Jason Anderson / Jared Kemp took an inside line in their Dodge Omni to avoid the wreck ahead.
The Gail Truess / Jimmy Brandt Chevy Citation crosses the final Menge Creek bridge en route to the stage finish. Brent Cary / Frank Pope ran the divisional event in conjunction with LSPR in their Mazda RX-7. The VW Rabbit of Heikke Nielsen / Bob Nielsen hits a puddle before the final Menge Creek bridge. Paul Choinere / John Buffum pull up to the start of Menge Creek 2 in their Hyundai Elantra.
