In Central Iowa, roads were starting to get wet from the first sleet.

Just to south of the MN/IA border, roads were starting to get just a little icy.

Just to south of the MN/IA border, roads were starting to get greasy and icy before we were re-routed.

Just to south of the MN/IA border, the storm really picked up!

Just to north of the MN/IA border, there was no traffic on the roads of even small towns.

Just to north of the MN/IA border, snow was gusting and blowing over the road.

Finally back outside the metro area, the storm had ended.
