In Southern Iowa, clouds to the north didn't look too bad yet. No rain still. In Central Iowa, roads were starting to get wet from the first sleet. Just to south of the MN/IA border, roads were starting to get just a little icy. Just to south of the MN/IA border, roads were starting to get greasy and icy before we were re-routed.
Just to south of the MN/IA border, the storm really picked up! Just to north of the MN/IA border, there was no traffic on the roads of even small towns. Just to north of the MN/IA border, snow was gusting and blowing over the road. Finally back outside the metro area, the storm had ended.
