The Travis Pastrana / Christian Edstrom Subaru WRX STi settled into second on the road. Ramana Lagemann / Mark Williams Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII was near the top all day. The Antoine L'Estage / Nathalie Richard Hyundai Tiburon battled for the lead in the early going of the event. The Matt Iorio / Ole Holter Subaru Impreza looked fast all weekend and tried for a repeat of their 2006 STPR victory.

The Otis Dimiters / Alan Ockwell Subaru WRX STi on SS3. The Otis Dimiters / Alan Ockwell Subaru WRX STi also was running rough on SS3 and eventually retired from the event.
