Paul Choinere / Doug Nerber lost the lead after folding up the left-front suspension early on day two in their Audi Quattro. Tom VanDamme / Chuck VanDamme at the Copper Harbor service. They also DNF'ed the event in their VW Rabbit. Tim Maskus / Doug Trott in their Mitsubishi Starion finished 10th overall. This photo was from the Copper Harbor service area. Paul Choinere / Doug Nerber took it easy over the yump in their Audi Quattro en route to a second place finish overall. Rene Villemure / Mike Villemure finished fourth overall, third in Open, in their Dodge Omni GLH-T.
Jan Jolles / Steve Finney took fifth overall in their classic Volvo 140. W.G. Giles / Bob Pierce were Production class winners and sixth overall in their VW GTI. Chris Czyzio / Eric Carlson took 13th overall in their Plymouth Arrow. Wayne Prochaska / Annette Prochaska were eleventh overall, 4th in P, in their VW GTI.
